Danish imams Doublespeak

Danish imam Abu Laban, says excatly the opposite to Al Jazzeera of what he is telling danish media. Member of parlaiment Naser Khader, translates from arab into danish. Khader:

"It´s not true what the chairman of the Islamic Society yesterday told danish TV 2 news, that he is working on ending the boycot in the arab world.

To Al Jazzeera Abu Laban says:

"If the muslim countries decide to boycot, and if muslim citizens feel it´s their duty to defend the profet, then it´s something we should be pleased about."

Politicians from left to the right, describes Abu Labans statements as "treason" and "sabotage". Prime minister Fogh Rasmussen was "not amused " on the news this evening. He says the imam is under strict scrutiny, and is not to be trusted anymore.

Media gathering

Foreign media rushes to the International Press Center in Copenhagen. The sensation is that the danish governtment is somewhat relieved, that part of the pressure has been taken over by Germany, France, Spain and others. Officially they are "playing it down" maintaining a low profile.

Fatwa against Danish troops
From correspondents in Copenhagen
A FATWA appears to have been issued against Danish soldiers stationed in Iraq, the Danish defence ministry said today."I can confirm that we've heard about the fatwa from a reliable source in Iraq ... so we believe it's true," Defence Minister Soeren Gade's spokesman Jacob Winther said.
The report came amid rising Muslim anger over 12 cartoons published in Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten last September depicting the Prophet Mohammed.
